Working for Newsy for over 3 years gave me a plethora of experience in editing all different kinds of stories. Above I've posted just a few (clicking will take you to the video on Newsy's website), but after hundreds of videos edited for Newsy, I'm confident in tackling just about any edit that comes my way.
Working in the news environment made me a very efficient and clean editor. Often, my deadlines for videos were just hours after it was assigned, and while the degree of difficulty the edit provided varied, I always get the video in on time. I also pride myself on keeping the small mindless/easy to miss mistakes to a minimum in my edits. If I have the ability to do that in quick turnaround times, I am confident I can do that in longer-form projects as well.

Because my role at Newsy was not with a specific team, I had the opportunity to work on a variety of stories, ranging from quick-turnaround headlines, to longer drawn-out documentary style videos. I tried to stay flexible at Newsy, and had asked for more and more opportunities to try new stories.

Overall I'm very proud of the work I did with Newsy, and was considered one of their top editors, despite not having any professional experience when I started. I believe my motivation to learn and grow, along with patience and confidence in my skill lead to success in my role at Newsy.
