This was one of my first major projects in a video editing class I took in college, and still today one of my favorite edits. This video is actually the one that helped me realize that I may have a career in video editing, and kicked off a chain of events that lead me to my first video editing job.

Stylistically, I took heavily from the famous YouTube celebrity Casey Neistat. He has a fast, punchy, upbeat editing style with quick cuts, fun music, and nice pace, so that is what I set out to achieve in this video. I feel like I adapted to this style well, not directly copying, but adopting it and creating something still unique to me.

This was a great challenge in writing and videography as well. I wanted to have a script that wouldn't bore people in a college class, so I tried to mix a tad bit of humor along with some short, to the point facts about me. Visually, I shot everything, and while I didn't have color correction practice back then, I think it did the job I wanted it to.

Per usual with my edits, music was important. I was able to edit well to the upbeat music I chose, with a fun intro, and timely cuts to follow the beat. I feel this has always been one of my strong suits, and the video shows it. The edits and music are synced very well, which I believe helps the piece along.

As one of my first major edits, I feel I showed my ability to adapt to a certain style and make it my own. On top of that, I was able to text on screen, quick cuts, and good music choice to help keep an upbeat feel throughout the edit.
